Mud, snow and road salt on your windows
Glass gets dirty fast in Andorra. In winter, snow and road salt can splash the windows of ground-floor flats and the shop fronts facing the street. Once it dries it leaves a white film that an ordinary cloth will not shift.
In spring the thaw brings mud and pollen. Tap water can also leave spots on glass as it dries. The result is the same at home and in the shop. In the afternoon sun, every streak shows.
Usually the cause is cleaning in a hurry, with a product that leaves a film and a damp cloth. The glass looks clean when wet and streaky when dry.
How our window cleaning works
We work in order, following the 5S method we use for everything: first we move what is in the way (curtains, plants, things on the sill), then we clean, and at the end we put everything back.
- Frame and track first. We remove dust and grit from the frame and the sliding track, so it is not dragged across the glass later.
- Glass on both sides whenever it can be reached safely: inside always, and outside if the sash opens inwards or the glass faces a terrace or balcony with a floor.
- Streak-free drying. Squeegee and dry cloth, top to bottom, so no water is left to leave marks.
- A check against the light. We look along the glass at an angle and go over any streak.
On a one-off booking we bring the products and cloths, included in the price; on a regular booking you can add them as an extra. If you prefer we use your own supplies, we can, but they need to be in good condition for us to answer for the result.
What we clean
We clean the usual glass in a home, office or shop, as long as it can be reached at hand height or with a low step:
- Windows in flats, houses and apartments, inside and outside when it is safe.
- Sliding doors to terraces and balconies.
- Shower screens and mirrors.
- Glass doors, office partitions and dividers.
- Shop windows and street doors, from the pavement.
For a shop, the entrance glass is the first thing a customer sees. If we already look after your shop or office, the street door and the window can be added to the regular clean.
This applies in all seven parishes, including Encamp and Pas de la Casa, where shop windows face the winter weather.
What we don't: work at height
We do not clean glass at height or with any risk. It is a clear decision and we tell you before, not on the day of the visit.
That means we do not do:
- Building facades or curtain walls.
- Outside windows that can only be reached by leaning out or hanging on.
- Jobs that need scaffolding, a lifting platform, ropes or tall ladders.
- Skylights and roof lights.
Those jobs need specific equipment. If your window has a fixed outer pane we cannot reach, we clean the inside and say so in the quote. That way you know from the start what will and will not be done.
Everyday glass, no height and no risk: whatever can be reached from the floor, from inside or from a terrace.
On its own or with your regular clean
There are two ways to book it, and the price depends on which you choose.
Added to a regular clean. If you already have regular house cleaning, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, windows are added as a task. The base rate is from €16.99/h (excl. IGI) and the add-on for everyday windows is +€0.49/h (excl. IGI). It is not a separate fee: it is the same visit, with the windows included.
As a one-off. If you only want the windows once, for example before guests arrive, after winter or when leaving a flat, it is charged at €38.27/h (excl. IGI), with travel, materials and products included.
| Item | Price (excl. IGI) |
|---|---|
| Hour in a regular clean | from €16.99/h |
| Everyday windows add-on (regular) | +€0.49/h |
| One-off service (travel, materials and products included) | €38.27/h |
In a regular clean, from 3 hours, the price drops €0.10/h for each hour from the third onward (3 h: -€0.10/h; 4 h: -€0.20/h), up to a maximum of 8 hours per visit. The one-off is a fixed price, with no hours discount. The minimum is one hour. You can see the window add-on price next to the other tasks on the prices page.
A practical tip: in a regular clean you do not need every window done every week. They can be split by area, some windows one week and the rest the next, so the visit does not run long.
What you do to book it
- Fill in the quote form: it takes about two minutes.
- Say whether it is a home, office or shop, which parish, and if you can, how many windows or metres of shop front there are.
- We reply in writing with the estimated hours and the price excl. IGI.
On the day, clear the sills if you can and tell us about any glass you do not want touched. If something is not as agreed, report it within 24 hours and we will go over it again.
