The Japanese cleaning method at Sojiya: cleaning is respect

Sojiya is a cleaning company in Andorra built on the Japanese cleaning method: 5S, continuous improvement and discipline. If you are new to Andorra and want to know who will come into your home or office, this page tells you.

Our idea is simple. Cleaning is not a lesser job. It is respect for a place and for the people who use it.

What Sojiya (掃除屋) means

Sojiya is written 掃除屋 in Japanese. Sōji means cleaning and -ya means a shop or a trade, so the word is simply "the cleaning specialists". We chose it because in Japan cleaning is a skill, taught with care and done with pride.

Sojiya was founded by Pedro Ferrer, who saw that Andorra needed a cleaning service that was well organised, legal and of reliable quality. Everything we do starts from that.

The Japanese cleaning method: 5S and kaizen every day

The Japanese cleaning method is a set of habits, not a slogan. We use 5S as the base of every visit:

  1. Seiri: separate what is needed from what is not.
  2. Seiton: put every item where it belongs.
  3. Seisō: clean properly, surface by surface.
  4. Seiketsu: keep the same standard every visit.
  5. Shitsuke: make it a discipline, even when nobody is watching.

On top of 5S sits kaizen, the idea of getting a little better each day. We apply it to every service and to every person on the team. Two more Japanese ideas guide us: wa, the harmony of a clean, ordered space, and kiritsu, the discipline to do the job well every time.

In one line

A clean space lets people live and work in peace. That is what we deliver.

A registered, trained team

You can trust a cleaner only if you know who they are. At Sojiya the people who clean are properly registered, trained and fairly paid. Clients can see each person's profile on the team page, with the services they offer.

We give our staff interactive training, we reward good work with bonuses, and our goal is that anyone who looks after other people's spaces can live well from their work. If you would like to join us, take a look at how to work with us.

Clients manage everything from their mobile or computer: services, visits and the rest, whenever they need it. Our rates are public, and you can read the published prices before you ask for anything: from €16.99/h (excl. IGI) for regular cleaning. Customising the service (frequency, extras, materials, time) changes the final price according to what you choose, and you see it in the quote before booking.

Where we work

Sojiya is active in Andorra, in all seven parishes: Canillo, Encamp, Ordino, La Massana, Andorra la Vella, Sant Julià de Lòria and Escaldes-Engordany. Spain, El Salvador and Dubai are coming soon, but today we work only in Andorra.

That focus is deliberate. We prefer to do one country very well. You can see everything we offer in our cleaning services in Andorra, from home cleaning to offices, windows and upholstery.

What is the 5S cleaning method?

5S is a Japanese method of keeping a space clean and in order through five steps: separate, arrange, clean, standardise and sustain. In practice it means a clear routine for each room, so the result is the same on every visit, whoever comes.
